This year, the European Robot Sumo Championship will be held together with RobotChallenge and European Championships will be awarded for six Robot Sumo weight classes for the first time:

  • Nano Sumo: up to 25 g, must fit in a 2.5 cm cube.
  • Micro Sumo: up to 100 g, must fit in a 5 cm cube.
  • Mini Sumo: up to 500 g, 10 cm by 10 cm, any height.
  • Standard Sumo: up to 3 kg, 20 cm by 20 cm, any height.
  • Humanoid Sumo: up to 3 kg, 20 cm by 20 cm, 50 cm height.
  • Mino Sumo Deathmatch

As in the traditional Japanese martial arts, the robots try to push the competitor off the ring.
